While emergency medical response and fire suppression are a main demand for services, each medically trained firefighter has a special skill to which they devote many hours of training. These skills include the following:
- High and Low Angle Rope Rescue
- Surface, Swift Water and Ice Rescue
- Vehicle Extrication and Machinery Entrapments
- Structural Collapse
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat)
- Back Country Rescues
The diverse response area in the district requires proficiency in all these rescue disciplines.
